The largest single mountain ski resort in the U.S., with 5,289 acres, Vail Mountain features seven bowls, and three sections: The Front-Side, Blue Sky Basin, and the Back Bowls. Opened in 1962, Vail Ski Resort is the second largest resort in North America, behind Whistler Blackcomb. With impressive size, stats and terrain, its no wonder that Vail has become one of the most visited ski destinations in the world.

Vail is host to a fantastic ski and snowbaord school, as well as a Nordic sports center located in Golden Peak. With the Nordic program, you can take a backcountry Snowshoe or XC tour in the beautiful White River National Forest, or learn new skills like Telemark and XC skiing.
